The BBC has confirmed that our documentary, Sutherland - The Empty Lands? will be broadcast on Friday December 26 at 7pm on BBC 2 Scotland and Sky Channel 990. The programme features Cameron taking a long walk through Sutherland, from Lochinver to Tongue, and meeting local people and outdoor enthusiasts along the way. This programme will be followed by the publication of a DVD and a book in the New Year. It will also herald the launch of The Sutherland Way, a new 77 mile long distance trail, also in the spring. 

Those of you who remember the television programmes The Edge - 100 Years of Scottish Mountaineering and Wilderness Walks, may already be familiar with the Mountain Media team. Richard Else and Margaret Wicks run one of the UK’s best known and most successful adventure film companies, Triple Echo Productions, and they have teamed up with journalist, broadcaster and wilderness backpacker Cameron McNeish to create Mountain Media, a video production company and book publishing house.

MM has just produced its first two DVD’s, Wild Walks and the TGO Challenge 2008, both available from this website, and others will follow in the near future. Next DVD will be Sutherland - The Empty Lands? That will be available once it has been broadcast on Boxing Day at 7pm on BBC Scotland and Sky Channel 990. The book of the television programme will be published in 2009.
